We have designed this site so that you can visit and browse without identifying yourself. We do not track visitors across other sites. We collect personally identifying data about you, such as your name and email address, only when you provide it voluntarily.

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with the service providers listed below, who use it to operate the site, deliver email you have asked for, process and fulfill orders, and measure site traffic.

Services we use

Ghost

We use Ghost (Ghost Pro) to host and operate heathens.community, to manage member accounts, and to send email newsletters. Signing in to Ghost uses a link sent to your email address rather than a password. Ghost stores your email address and your subscription preferences.

Web3Forms and Tally

We use Web3Forms and Tally to deliver the screening request and story submission forms on this site. When you submit that form, Web3Forms and Tally pass what you entered to us by email. It receives whatever you choose to enter, including your name, phone number and email address if you provide them.

Fourthwall

We use Fourthwall to operate the HEATHENS Store. Fourthwall is the merchant of record for all purchases, which means it processes your payment, handles order inquiries and returns, and manages tax and customs. Purchases are governed by Fourthwall’s own terms and privacy policy, linked from the store.

Payment providers

Credit and debit cards, PayPal, Google Pay, Apple Pay, Klarna, and Afterpay are available through the store where regionally supported. We never see or store your full payment details.

Analytics

We use Ghost’s built-in analytics to measure site traffic. It records page views and referral sources and does not build advertising profiles.

Community story submissions

You may share your story with us through the form on this site. An alias is accepted and encouraged. When you give your email address, we use it only to reply to you or to send you the updates you asked for.

Every submission asks you directly what we may do with your story, and we follow that instruction. We do not publish any submission without your explicit permission, and if you asked to be shown it first, we will show it to you before anything appears anywhere.

Submissions are exported to our own encrypted storage and deleted from Web3Forms on a monthly basis. If you ask us to delete your submission entirely, we will.

Cookies

We use cookies to keep you signed in and to remember your preferences. We do not set advertising or cross-site tracking cookies ourselves. The embedded players named below may set their own.

Embedded media

Some pages include video and audio hosted by other companies: Vimeo for the film and the vignettes, YouTube for the featured artist on The Sounds of Heathens, and Spotify for the playlist on the same page. We use Vimeo’s Do Not Track setting and YouTube’s no-cookie player, so neither builds an advertising profile from your visit. Spotify’s player sets its own cookies and we cannot disable them — if you would rather it didn’t, don’t press play, or open the playlist in Spotify directly.

Security and location of data

We require HTTPS across the site and communicate with all services over HTTPS exclusively. No data transmitted over the internet can be guaranteed to be completely secure, and you provide us with your data at your own risk. Our servers are located in the United States. If you are outside the U.S., by sending us your data you consent to its transfer to and storage within the United States.

Your choices

You can unsubscribe from any email using the link in that email. If you would like your personal information removed from our systems, email privacy@paleblue.film and we will delete it.

Children

This site is not directed to children under 13 and will not knowingly collect or maintain personal information from children under 13.

Changes

We may update this policy. Material changes will be noted at the top of this page.
